Job description

Southern Tire Mart (STM), headquartered in Columbia, Miss., is hiring an Accounting Specialist. This individual will be responsible for maintaining reports, records and general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities
• Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory using accounting software and other programs
• Maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors/customers
• Processing invoices for payments
• Processing payments on accounts
• Processing transactions and performing accounting duties including account maintenance, verifying, classifying, recording entries and reconciling vendor/customer accounts

Requirements
• Associates degree in Accounting or business related field, or 2 years experience in related area
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills preferred
• Basic data entry skills
• Good listening and communication skills
• Confidentiality and integrity
