So firstly the the tires look great, have a nice smooth ride, good grip in wet, but haven’t had snow this late in the season thankfully. After that is where the trouble begins. I bought the tires for my tuned mazda 3 turbo. I drive a lot so a set of super soft summer performance tires is kind of out of the question for this car. After a few hundred mile break in I hit the twisties spiritedly, not super aggressively. While the tires have grip, the sidewalls are MUSHY, I can feel the tires squirming under the car, its a really disconcerting feeling. It really becomes apparent in tight s bends, and quick maneuvers on the highway. From the reviews of this tire everywhere else I was expecting better. I’m guessing they got the smooth ride by reducing the side wall rigidity. So I guess if you are someone that would rather a tire balanced towards ride over handling this would be a great tire. However if you are like me and would rather put ride 3rd behind grip and handling this isn’t MUCH stiffer side walls I could tell when mounting the tires. These Continentals were much easer to mount which worried me, and my worries were not unfounded. the tire for you. I’ve had a set of the BFgoodrich competitor tire and hey were almost a smooth but didn’t feel like my car was smoshing around on top of the tread.
