I have been buying General tires since around 1984. Always liked them, but I am not a professional tire tester. I needed new tires for my 1985 Fiero (Owned since new)….Obviously, there are no good performance tires in the original 14-15″ sizes, so I found some very good (And light) wheels 16 x 7 size. I then looked on Tirerack and saw the General G-Max tires were rated very highly in comparison testing. Not only are they a very good tire, but they are also approx’ 2-4 lbs lighter than most of the other tires in comparable sizes. I was able to eliminate 6 lbs per corner of wheel/tire weight- this made the car perform better AND also ride and handle better. Stay as light as possible.I have had 2 sets of these and 2 sets of the earlier AS-03 tires- I get approx’ 25,000 miles out of them (I like to drive back roads and drift thru on/off ramps). These are great performance all-season tires.
