Yokohama discontinued their older S.Drive line so I bought some of these. Decent for the price, however of course with some compromises.This tire has a softer sidewall (1-ply) and is made in the Philippines. Also, the tire seems slightly narrower than my old S.Drives.Not that it’s important, but it no longer has a “rim guard” type sidewall design.

It is slightly narrower than the factory recommendation. It has excellent wet weather handling and quite good on the mud when encountered on blacktop or cement roads. I don’t ride when the temp is below 34 degrees Fahrenheit or if there is a chance of snow or freezing rain so I can’t speak to the handling on those conditions. Yes it is not the cheapest tire and it is also not the most expensive but it is the best handling tire, the best-lasting tire I’ve found.

Used this tire to replace the horrible Kenda rear tire that came stock on my wife’s Syder. Tread is nearly the same, and height is identical, tread width is nearly identical as well with little noticeable difference at all. She hasn’t been able to ride it since install, but it has to be worlds better than the previous tire.**update! The tire was amazing, made the bike ride smoother and handle better than before. I think I accidentally ran a high pressure in it and wore out the center prematurely. Now running a Kumho ecsta in the same size. Will see how it compares. So far so good though.

Previously rode on 16.8 ESM rims with the S drive 2055016 tire on BMW E30 coupe. The S Drive had much better cornering ability, better grip off the line due to a wider footprint giving it a meaty on the car. Not soft like the PARADA or Advan.I wish Yokohama would offer the S. drive again!!!!
